Who we are

FocusToday (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a personal productivity application that helps you plan, focus, and reflect on your daily work. The service is available at focustoday.co.

What information we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to provide the service:

  • Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We use this to create and identify your account.
  • Task data — the tasks, notes, workspaces, projects, and tags you create in the app. This data belongs to you.
  • Usage data — basic information about how you interact with the service (for example, which features are used most often), collected in aggregate and without identifying individual users where possible.
  • Technical data — your IP address, browser type, and operating system, retained briefly in server logs for security and debugging purposes.

We do not collect payment information directly. If we introduce paid features in future, payments will be processed by a certified third-party payment provider.

How we use your information

  • To authenticate you and maintain your session across devices.
  • To store and synchronise your task data across the devices you use.
  • To send you transactional communications (for example, reminders you have configured in the app).
  • To improve the product by understanding how people use it, in aggregate.
  • To respond to support requests you send us.

We do not use your data to serve advertising, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers hosted by reputable cloud providers with industry-standard security controls. Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. We store passwords as secure one-way hashes and do not have access to your Google credentials.

No system is perfectly secure. We take reasonable precautions, but we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach that affects your data, we will notify you promptly.

Third-party services

We use a small number of third-party services:

  • Google Identity— for sign-in. Google’s privacy policy applies to the information you provide to Google during authentication.
  • Cloud hosting providers — to run our servers and store data.

We do not share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties beyond what is listed here.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in across sessions. No third-party tracking or advertising cookies are set. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings, which will sign you out of the app.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Export your task data in a portable format (feature in progress).
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@focustoday.co. We will respond within 30 days.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

Children

FocusToday is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending you an email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
